Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson two lawyers. Her family relocated to Oxfordshire at the age of five when she enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma decided to become an actor when she was six. In the past she was at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in multiple Stagecoach productions and school plays. In 1999 casting began to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre professor. After eight consistent auditions the producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film was also the most popular film of 2001. The opening Saturday and Sunday the sales were unbeatable. The film was praised by critics, as were the performance of three stars. The popular British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance "awesome. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in a Feature Film. Later, she was nominated for five awards for her part in the film.
